Lesson, Week 1: "Jesus died for our sins."
For those who don't know, Jesus had lived a perfect life. Even though there were many times Jesus was hurt, he still lived sin free. We despised him and rejected him; he endured suffering and pain. No one would even look at him— we ignored him as if he were nothing.
“But he endured the suffering that should have been ours, the pain that we should have borne. All the while we thought that his suffering
was punishment sent by God. But because of our sins he was wounded, beaten because of the evil we did. We are healed by the punishment he suffered, made whole by the blows he received. (Isaiah 53:3-5). This shows a lot, it goes off of what I was saying, Jesus was hurt, in fact, nailed. All of the pain, Jesus had went through, was to ensure all of his people could get in heaven.
As you know now, Jesus had gone through so much pain physically. He still had a pure soul, something none of us have. For he knew he would die for us. For Christ died for sins once and for all, a good man on behalf of sinners, in order to lead you to God. He was put to death physically, but made alive spiritually (1 Peter 3:18).
Since Jesus had died for us and saved us BIG TIME, we serve him faithfully. because you protect me from the power of death.
I have served you faithfully, and you will not abandon me to the world of the dead. (Psalm 16:10)
